We had a couple of slow-ish games, but did not really stick to a hard time limit. Since the rules are new, we recently updated to a new version, and we had several very new players, it seemed best to allow players a little bit more time for rules discussion, helping each other out, questions etc.

Salutations, gentlefolk !
Thanks to David & David for running this tourney (and for the patience they showed as my games plodded to finish), appreciation to my opponents for their sportsmanship, and gratitude for the photographer getting a reasonable likeness of me.
Note that the army list I had said "Polish", not German. Half my ancestors are unhappy.
Hope to be seeing y'all at Historicon. Any possibility of an event at NJ Con in June ?
Yours, John Desmond

If half your ancestors are Polish and the other half are German, then I expect they're pretty-much never happy at each other. Or at least, they haven't been happy with each other since 1200 AD, more or less.jdesmond wrote: Note that the army list I had said "Polish", not German. Half my ancestors are unhappy.
That's four hours drive for us. Easily doable to help with someone else's event (to come and help if someone else takes lead and runs an event) but more difficult for us to be the principal organizers and supply all the crew, if you see the distinction. Especially on short notice. Is it even possible to get into the PEL now, only two months before the event? We're frantically getting together the schedule for Historicon, and that's about 15 weeks away, but the deadline is just a week.jdesmond wrote: Hope to be seeing y'all at Historicon. On the positive side, NJ Con is after my semester ends, so I'd be available. Not so likely that Jack, DS, Rod, or Terence could make it. Rod almost certainly not -- he lives in Michigan or something, and the drive is probably close to 12 hours for him. Maybe it would be possible for me to come up and run some demo games. Just thinking aloud, though -- nothing is likely without discussing it with my wife.
Is anyone else on this forum attending?

Unfortunately, NJ is a little out of the weekend drive range for a convention....

It's going to be very interesting to see what people come up with as their favorite tournament armies in the next few years. It's an evolving social experiment.
My favorite is the proper Body weight ratio per cement quantity ratio
