Fantasy Playtest # 4

Post by skc » Tue Dec 21, 2021 12:24 pm

Following last weeks victory by their evil "Undead" cousins, the "Dark Elves" were now keen to take on the Romans.

Initially the impetuous, Jav Cavalry (with 'Fierce') were pulled off their hill advantage, and outnumbered by Roman horse, were eliminated. With their rear now threatened, things were looking grim for the Elven folk.

However once again, the Witch Elves clinched the game. Using their "Up" ability. they again descended on the Camp, which although this time fortified, still fell to them. 8 points! This plus that of two Roman Legion stands lost, gave the Dark elves a minor 16:12 win.

And Morathi? (Her battlefield debut) Apart from looking scary and pretty, what else did she do? Using "Spellcast" she had mediocre ability. However her 'Mind Blast' abilities seemed more promising. (She can 'stay' for now.😉'
Lessons learned: 1. Remove Morathi's Spell Blast and give the points back to the Jav Cav, removing their 'Fierce' and 'Slow' impediments. Keep 'Mind Blast' and maybe also add some 'Terror' or 'Hearten.' 2. When 'Up' is about, garrison the Camp with a Legion or at least Light foot stand! 3. Get a decent camp for the Dark Elves!

Once again we had great fun, and once again, thank you Peter!

Thanks. So far so good! Basically played 'semi-solo' as my son and opponent, has Down Syndrome and struggles with the rules. However he has a feel for what he is doing, and can even give me a good beating on Fog2 PC.
