I found a reference in "Armies of the Ancient Near East" (WRG) for a dawn attack by Libyan forces against the Egyptians that might make a good battle card. The Libyans tried a dawn attack in an apparent attempt to overcome Egyptian superiority in missile fire.
The effect in the game could be allowing the Libyans to move first, regardless if they are the defender or attacker. That seems powerful so it would have to be an expensive card.
It is found on page 58:

Re: Libyans - Possible Battle Card
Putting a call out to the cognoscenti -- what OTHER armies have documented battles where they tried an attack at dawn (or just after, or just before)? If we make this a battle card, we'd like to see what other armies get the possibility to purchase this battle card.

Re: Libyans - Possible Battle Card
Taking this battle card (as proposed) has some risk of wasting the points, because it would have to be included in your army composition before the battle is set up. One might pay for the card and end up being the one who moves first anyway. This might justify a lower cost.
Re: Libyans - Possible Battle Card
I'm new. Is it that big a deal to go first?
Re: Libyans - Possible Battle Card
It can be because you can use a March move to "grab" terrain or control of the center of the battlefield while getting close enough to shutdown the enemy from March moving.
