What if you simply added a short appendix to the rules explaining how to build a legal army list?David Kuijt wrote:It's not completely clear where we ought to express it. There are a large number of upsides to having online army lists, but a few downsides exist. One of them is cases like this, where the complexity of the information being expressed by the army list is not intuitive, and normally would be expressed in the rules.

The solution that comes immediately to mind is something like "General's troop type: Knights if present, otherwise Pikes", or "General's troop type: Knights if present, otherwise any".David Kuijt wrote: I'm sure there are upsides and downsides we haven't thought of -- I'd value feedback on this issue. It's small (doesn't happen frequently), but complex.

So a two-level system with priority, then. That's good -- now I'll have to talk to Jack about how to code that into Meshwesh.Andreas Johansson wrote: The solution that comes immediately to mind is something like "General's troop type: Knights if present, otherwise Pikes", or "General's troop type: Knights if present, otherwise any".

For some reason, a search for "Byzantine" fails to find the Palaiologan Byzantine list.
(A helpful hint you shouldn't play these losers?)

Ah. The "local" scroll bar on the results list is practically invisible (but functional) when I access the site from the Nexus, so I didn't realize there was one yesterday. When I use the laptop the scroll bar is normal.

The Siracae, Iazyges, and Later Rhoxolani list has 6-12 Knights, but the other troops available amount to a mere 14 points, so the Knights minimum should probably raised to eight.

Allies (Alan, Taifali, or Quadi) could fill that gap.Andreas Johansson wrote:The Siracae, Iazyges, and Later Rhoxolani list has 6-12 Knights, but the other troops available amount to a mere 14 points, so the Knights minimum should probably raised to eight.

Post-Mongol Russian and Medieval Swedish need one another as enemies.

Fixed. And it exposed another error, where the Post Mongol Russian list had lost a century or so somehow.Andreas Johansson wrote:Post-Mongol Russian and Medieval Swedish need one another as enemies.
