Trojan War Army List
What are the exact unit types used for the Trojan War demo game? A friend of mine and I were thinking of recreating the battle.
Re: Trojan War Army List
Hi Roger, I used the Later Mycenaean as the basis with a touch of fantasy (the Amazons), I only give deadly to Achilles not the generals. The gods can add different abilities as well.
Greeks:
6 - Heavy Foot
3 - Battle Taxis - one is the Agamemnon General
1- Deadly Battle Taxi - Achilles
1 - Elite Foot Achilles Myrmidons
1 - Light Foot
2 - Skirmishers
2 - Bow Levy
49 points
Trojans
3 - Battle Taxis - one is Hector
2 - Skirmishers - one is Paris, the other is amazon
1 - Bad Horse
1 - Raider
2 - Bow Levy
1 - Horsebow - Amazons
6 - Heavy Foot
48 points

Interesting. We were leaning more towards a Light Foot core for the Trojans.
Re: Trojan War Army List
I took my lists from Meshwesh, no reason to think the Trojan core was significantly less dependent on heavy foot, especially if you take into account the tales of Homer. Both sides seemed relatively evenly matched in heavy foot.

Re: Trojan War Army List
My basic logic is that the Achaeans were from the warrior classes while the Trojans would have many locals who were not well-equipped professional warriors. The evidence from Troy VI shows a lot of short swords, which might be a sign of light infantry.
