I have tried encouragement, cajoling, threats, and harsh language; however, my general continues to roll either a '1' or '2' during maneuver pips. Maybe I'll write on the bases as well. I've also threatened my troops with pink armor but it doesn't seem to matter - they still do poorly. I'm sure it's not their leadership.

I'm writing, "Just. Don't. DIe."

I think it's working.
"...the woman warrior who is armed with wit and courage will be among the first to celebrate victory."

I like it, will have to give it a try. I look for anything that will help me win.

Maybe it will help to write it in Latin. Just roll sixes = senionem miserat iustus volvunt, so says this translation webpage - http://en.eprevodilac.com/prevodilac-engleski-latinski

On my Mithradatic army I painted, "f'#ck You!" letter by letter, in Classical Greek (?) on 8 of the Pike shields. (Didn't seem to reverse my dismal loss record however!;) Photo shows 4 of them. (not sure if I sold the F#ck group though;)

I've tried setting out the chosen army on a table facing an enemy army. Set them out a week in advance or so. To get them in the mood to fight.

Doesn't work.

I will try writing on their bases.
