15mm Elamites
This army has 22....yes,22...stands of Bow Levy. And one Archer general.
My primary source was “Armies of the Ancient Near East” which has a few illustrations of Elamite warriors. The figures are all Old Glory brand from their Amorite, Syrian, and Babylonian ranges. The only conversions are the Babylonian archers in the short tunics. They are cast with conical helmets, so I clipped/filed off the top of the helmets to make a headband. Then a small amount of Green Stuff to remake the top of the head.
I have more miniatures on the way to fill out the rest of the bases.
Any suggestions on colors for the kilts and tunics are welcome. My current plan is for about half to be white, then the rest linen or other plain colors.

The first few stands have been painted, washed using Mineax Polyshades Tudor Satin, and the bases painted earth brown, dry brushed with light brown, and finally a sand color. The next step is to finish the bases and spray with Testors Dull Cote.

Re: 15mm Elamites
Here is the partially completed camp for the Elamites. I wanted to incorporate well-built dwellings to show that the Elamites were capable builders, as evidenced by the remaining ziggurat sites and the walled city of Susa shown on Assyrian reliefs.
The second theme is their dedication to archery and the support this required.
From left to right:
-A craftsman making arrows
-Pack donkeys loaded with arrows heading out to resupply the archers
-archers practicing close range shooting

Nice work Paul. A lovely themed camp that tells a cohesive story.
Cheers,

Half the army is completed (except for Dullcote). The camp is assembled and has a base coat of earth brown. The miniatures for the rest of the Bow Levy arrived in the mail yesterday!

Re: 15mm Elamites
A few more shots.
Edit: A few of the stands were sprayed with DullCote while it was humid in the garage, so they have a light grey coating on them in these pictures. The solution was to take them into the house (non-humid) and spray them with DullCote again while they were in a cardboard box. The coating disappeared.

Re: 15mm Elamites
This "Battle Taxi" chariot is for the Elamite Awan Dynasty list. I have two stands of pike also ready, so I will post those when I can get good photos.
This is a Chariot/Magister Militum brand model. I thought the onagers that came with this set looked awkward and skinny, so I used some onagers left over from my Sumerian army. I am not sure of the manufacturer for these onagers. I added harness with rosette decorations to the oangers so they match the images of Elamite chariots found on Assyrian reliefs. The archers on foot are converted Eureka Hawaiians.
