Hard copy publication

Post by Gregorius » Tue Jul 18, 2017 4:01 am

Hi guys,

I'm sure that I have seen somewhere a schedule for the hard copy publication of Triump! However, no matter how much I search for an answer it eludes me. So, any information when publication is anticipated would be appreciated.

Cheers,
Greg in the antipodes.

Gregorius,

As far as I know we have not posted a schedule for hard copy publication of Triumph! as we do not have the schedule yet! I think Jack did post something about us looking forward to likely finalizing the standard Triumph! rules by the end of calendar year 2017. But in terms of knowing what will happen with the hard copy version of the rules.... that has yet to be determined!

As soon as we work out the details, we will post the information on here.

Thanks DS. Perhaps Jack's posting is what I recalled.

Cheers,

If I bought a pdf version, would I get a hard copy when it came out?

My understanding is that the PDF version entitles you to any electronic versions... including a PDF of a final print.

I believe a hardcopy will cost extra, just like the currently available print on demand cards.

Hey Paul!

We're working through the last issues with our graphic design dude currently; we hope to have the final version with all fine pictures maybe in March. The cover art is still only in concept/draft mode and we've started the search for an artist; pop me an email if you're interested and I'll send you the draft sketch. We've got bids from several printers and have sufficient good options there. We've talked to someone who is willing (and capable) of taking the burden of being the primary online retail point from us (we don't really want to focus on mailing copies to individuals -- we want to use that time on Fantasy Triumph, Battle Cards, Campaign/Scenario books, and other value-added future projects).

Potential delays are unpredictable; for example if we need a couple more good pics with particular proportions that might delay things a week or two to get Jack with his fine photo equipment up to my house on a Saturday. Artist, printer, and shipping delays are even less predictable -- if we order a thousand copies or so from the printer then transport could be a real delay. And the step from there to "available" (at Amazon.com, or through another online distributor) will depend upon variables of stocking and so on that are normal but not under our control.

None of which answers your question directly. If you ask an optimist (me) I'd say it would probably be in the hands of the printer before Spring Break, and I would hope we had the retail chain set up so you could buy it from our website or the retailers or from Amazon by maybe early Summer. I'd hope for even earlier, but that may be a vain hope. If you ask a pessimist (DS), he would probably say midsummer?

I'm not a pessimist, Rod is the pessimist!

Rod wants a copy in hand by April 26th, so if that is overly pessimistic? I am ok with that :)

I would describe that as "not impossible". I'm not prepared to give it a probability though.
