I'd like to thank the Grand Company for the Triumph! System. I played the system once with Maerk and it was great fun.
I have a question and request concerning reducing frontage:
In a certain legacy system , it was conventionally agreed upon to allow frontage reduction; also if passing near bad going or other troops - even if these (the terrain or troops) were located on just one side of the moving group. This was not a gap in the sense described, but nevertheless a very effective, imo reasonable and elegant interpretation of the rules. I wished we could see this convention included in the triumph rules - in the Washington Grand Company's clear and impeccable phrasing.
all the best

I think 34.3 c on page 12 allows the group move you are mentioning.
Groups are allowed to reduce frontage as they move forward. Not seeing any restriction preventing what you mention above?

Re: Reducing Frontage
I'm referring to 40.1-4. Here, reducing frontage is only allowed when moving through a gap.
