Army Packs

Do any of the 15mm figure manufacturers provide Triumph! army packs?

I am thinking about getting some new armies that are Triumph! compliant.

It would be good to have some armies that don't need to borrow elements from my other armies, especially when they are not the right figures etc.

I am also thinking of adding some elements to my existing armies, but that will require working out what I actually need...

Great question.

We hope to have Thisle and Rose Miniatures up and running in the next couple of months. We will be selling Basic Armies that will give players all the troops needed to make a Triumph! army. Part of the work we have been doing in bringing the line back over the last couple of years was researching each of the armies (20+) and building playable basic armies that will work with Triumph!

We believe Triumph! is a great way to get new players into the hobby and the army sizes make it well within reach of younger gamers both from a monetary standpoint and from the standpoint of getting an army onto the table in a reasonable amount of time.

When people find the armies and time periods they really like, they can expand their armies to 3x size and play Grand Triumph!.

We are also considering selling specific packs of figures to bring legacy armies up to Triumph! compliant armies with Horde, Bow Levy, Horse Bow and other packs.

When I get back from Canada in two weeks, Bill, we should talk. One of the Secret Fields in Meshwesh is a "suggested army makeup" field that we built in with an eye towards helping manufacturers put together army packs. Meshwesh has too much range and variety for most manufacturers to want to put together an "all options" pack for any except the most limited army lists (Viking Raiders might work as an all-options pack), so we put together a simplified representative range of stands that would give players some options (i.e., not just 48 pts exactly) but still be feasible for manufacturers to put together packs.

The "suggested army makeup" field isn't visible to users of Meshwesh yet, but I've got the data (although it is still a bit rough). Let's talk; we'd love to have Thistle and Rose army packs up as soon as you guys are in production!

Grand Triumph rocks, it must be admitted.

And when you guys get the Vendel Fantasy figure ranges in production, hopefully we'll have at least a rough draft of Fantasy Triumph up and running.

DK,

That would be great to get that data and good timing for us too.

We've really had to get into the weeds on a number of fronts in bringing back a figure line with more than 900 original sculpts.

For any army we had to:
1- identify the figures we had as to type, weapons, etc.
2- determine what Triumph! catagory of troop they were
3- match the figures and numbers needed for that type by army
4- put together a 'bill of materials' that showed the numnber of figures by type and source in the figure line for those figures.

One of the first armies we tackled were the Mongols. And we were doing our basic army builds using the legacy system under the previous version (2.0). That then had to be updated for 3.0 army lists (helped immeasurably by the better detail in those new army lists.) and then that had to updated for Triumph! and the point system. Any changes had to be run through all the builds. It's been fun is a it confusing and a good way to learn our own line.

Mongols are pretty straight forward army in both the legacy and Triumph system. Matching the figures and horses to Elite Cavalry and Horse Bow was pretty easy, but we tried to come up with a mix of figures so that there were not more than 2 or 3 repeat poses in the (9x2) + (3x3) = 27 figures army.

It is similar to the process that everyone with legacy armies has had to go through to update an army for Triumph! and we hope to find some time to publish some helpful info on that over the next 6 months.

Both excellent responses.

I look forward to when these both come to fruition.
