Hey all,

I have mostly finished painting figures, and borrowing two armies (one Haradrim command and one Rohirrim), and with luck I'll be doing most of the work of gooping and flocking the bases for all 200+ stands of Middle Earth forces for the battle of the Pelennor Field this weekend!

There will be five commands on each side -- three Rohan commands, one Sally from Minas Tirith command, and one Black Ships at the Harlond command (Aragorn, the Grey Company, and all the help he could muster from South Gondor); that's the Men of the West side. For the forces of Sauron, we've got Mumaks, Haradrim, Axemen of Khand, Men of Far Harad, the Black Serpent (Southron Cavalry commander), and huge wads of Orcs and Goblins. Plus the Witch King of Angmar riding a Fell Beast, of course.

These forces will come to battle at Fall In! 2017 in about two weeks. Be There or Be Square!

As a teaser, here's the Witch King of Angmar's command:

• Himself. (Some special rules) 12pt stand
• 3x Siege Machines. Special rules (stationary etc. etc. 2pts each)
• 10x Orcs -- Warband (30 pts)
• 16x Goblins -- Rabble (32 pts)
• 8x Goblin massed bowmen -- Bow Levy (16 pts)

That's 38 stands (although himself starts off-map, switching from black horse to fell beast after getting wrong-footed at the Gates of Minas Tirith by the onslaught of Rohan), and 96 pts. Woohoo!

Just finished spreading goop on the bases of 207 stands of 28mm figures. Took 15 hours (five stints of about 3 hours each, with breaks in between to eat food and get advil for my back). If the goop dries on schedule I can do the brown wash tomorrow (after buying more white glue), then drybrush and flock on Tuesday.

I need to make Minas Tirith as well. How fast can I make Minas Tirith?!?

Plus banners -- I'm six or eight banners down (mostly Rohan).

Image of Minas Tirith. As finished as it's going to be for this weekend; by Historicon I intend for it to be fully done with buildings and towers and machicolations and maybe even Denethor on a flaming swan dive.
