How does one sign up for the Fall of Rome Tournament? On this site? I didn't see where you could do it on the Historicon site.

You just show up for the tournaments. Preferably a 15 minutes before the start time.

In addition to what Rod said, at Historicon there are signup sheets for the tournaments (physical ones) at the Triumph organizational table; put your name down there for every tournament in which you wish to test your mettle.

Thanks again! I was thinking of doing the fall of Rome with a Hun army.
Not sure about my 'mettle'. I've only ever played Triumph at Historicon, but I've enjoyed it.

The tournaments are listed here:
https://cdn.ymaws.com/www.hmgs.org/reso ... PEL_5-.pdf
The other events are in the PEL:
https://cdn.ymaws.com/www.hmgs.org/reso ... mplete.pdf
There are demos every morning, 2 or so big battle events every afternoon, and a tournament style every night.

Let's see if this works:
- Historicon 2023 Schedule.JPG (68.74 KiB) Viewed 19424 times
Okay, that seems to have worked.
Use the PEL and Tournament links Rod gave to get full detail about the scheduled events; the above visual aid shows what is happening when. "Track 1" through "Track 4" are organizational aids for us (allocating table space and stuff).
- Epic Conflicts is walk-up Triumph demos with preset armies from notable historical battles, all 15mm. This year we will have one Fantasy Triumph preset battle (60mm base scale) as well for visual appeal.
- Open Gaming means we leave the Epic Conflicts preset armies up for players to try if they want, but we aren't using them to demo in an active way (teaching the game with them) because our staff will be running the larger historical battles (mostly Grand Triumph with 6 players, although one battle is an 8 player game).
- Chalons is an 8 player big game (4 per side) based upon the battle between Aetius and Atilla.
- Brunanburh is Grand Triumph (6 players, 3 per side) based on the battle between AEthelstan and a Viking/Scottish/Strathclyde alliance.
- Asculum is Grand Triumph from the Pyrrhic Wars
- Hattin is Grand Triumph from the Crusades
- Troy is a floor game of standard (48pt) Triumph with enormous figures (8" base width, I believe -- it's one of Rod's creations). Spectacular.
- Tournaments are evening activities (allowing us to release our support crew so they can actually play some games for themselves)

Thank you.
I hope I can make it in time for the Fall of Rome. Picking my son up after work on Thursday, I'm hoping he can sneak out early. Really wish I was there for Wimps--I have an Eastern Forest which certainly qualifies for wimpy.

Looking forward to the event. The varied armies of Chalons should be interesting.
