Special Event: Battle for Middle Earth, Historicon 2023
Re: Special Event: Battle for Middle Earth, Historicon 2023
Defiantly want to be a part of the campaign in 2024. Am I to understand that there is a limited amount of which army(s) to be selected? I understand we don't want 50 armies of elves and 1 of goblins, but before I make the effort I want to be sure I will be helping the campaign by filling out the necessities. It looked like Sarumon army was absent, as well as other Flex armies. What do any of you think I could bring for 2024? Thanks.

Hadn't put any thought into whether I will run it for 2024. It was a big success, so maybe, but I wouldn't say definitely at this point. Pop me an email in a few months, perhaps?
The player who was thinking about Saruman ended up not being able to make it last summer. It happens.
I'm putting a bunch of work into making official versions of the LOTR lists; if I run the Middle Earth campaign next summer at H'con, that work will inform what the lists for the campaign would be for that event.
The normal deal for this sort of campaign is that people sign up for armies on a first-come first-served basis, and there are only the armies that there are. So if there is one Saruman, then only one player gets to play Saruman. Dave Schlanger and I have run nearly a hundred such campaigns in the past, mostly in legacy games; as the Triumph community has grown we are envisioning restarting that tradition with Triumph at some point in the future. The campaign book (campaign book 1, to be precise) will describe how that works; the book has been languishing at the "nearly done" stage since March or February.
