I would be happy to play the Southrons or the Easterlings.

Re: Special Event: Battle for Middle Earth, Historicon 2023
Still 14 players signed up after including me and DS. Roger Cooper is swapping for Mike Guth, though.
Does anyone have an appropriate 80mm base Saruman army they could bring, in case we can recruit a signup at the convention?
Rod will be bringing the Southron army Mark was going to field as a loaner.
The Battle for Middle Earth
This is an event that I've been wanting to run for a long time! Players pick one of a number of armies at the end of the Third Age, fighting for the West or for the Shadow. Exact details will be forthcoming as we get closer to the event. The main reason for this LONG advance notice is to give players time to build and bring their own army. Advance signup begins now. This is not completely free-form -- there are a set of army lists for each power. See the end of this note for a link.
WHEN: Historicon 2023. June 22rd. Saturday Evening
WHERE: Lancaster County Convention Center
SCALE: 28-30mm figures on 80mm wide bases only. Bring your own army. Advance signup required.
ADVANCE SIGNUP: If you signup for an army, you've got it and nobody else can take it. So you are committed to coming. Which means if real life happens and your plans change (as sometimes happens), you must let me know so I can free up your slot for another player.
AVAILABLE ARMIES:
We're even again; that means new signups need to be in pairs to make things work. Bring a friend!
Forces of the West:

I will bring one.David Kuijt wrote: ↑Sat Jul 15, 2023 12:06 pmEveryone -- please bring 80mm legal Triumph terrain if you have it. We'll have some loaner terrain, and I'm in the process of cutting up old 24" legacy boards to make more, but if you've got your own, bring it.
And if you have your own generic (green) legal Triumph 80mm battlemat, please bring that as well. We will have enough, I hope, but some of them are going to be repurposed from slightly odd things -- two white/snow/ice boards created for DS and my Ice Elemental/Snow Barbarian armies, for example. One underground board intended for a Drow/Underdark/Utapau set of armies. I'm hoping I don't have to use the (very nice) board I created for a Star Wars demo built for 80mm Triumph battles inside a Star Destroyer.
If you're bringing a battlemat, please let me know.

I want to thank you for lending me your beautifully-painted Easterling army.
