The event was exhausting (especially packing and unpacking the figures), but quite successful. Spencer took a bunch of piccies (I couldn't) and was the only command of Rohirrim unbusted in the end, but the forces of the West prevailed.

Does anyone have any advice on good (and inexpensive) Trebuchet models in 28mm? Don't need to be superhuge. I want them to represent the siege engines used to rain fire and severed heads into Minas Tirith. I can paint and base the orc crew, but I need the trebuchets.

Sounds like a balsa wood and twine project to control costs especially if you need more than one. Everything I have seen is pricey even the kits.

I have seen a couple cool ones, I like RAFM but they are $16 each....
If you are willing to consider something less Trebuchet like:

Some plastic toy ones might work.

They are orc construction so they can be pretty rough.
I second the notion of building them from light Hobby wood. Use 2 or 3 types of square wood strips, rough them up with some sand paper, cut to your design, and assemble with glue and pins. Wheels can be round wood pieces or you could build them as sleds.
I built 10 Orc Landing craft in a couple of hours with working landing ramps. Stain and done.
