Are Fantasy Triumph! Army Lists desitined for Meshwesh? Or will they be somewhere else?

Currently working on Vendel Fantasy armies. Converting over lists from HOTT and what has been discussed here so far.

Is there need for any? One of the attractions of HOTT has always been that you're free to build your army almost any which way.

There have been lists for most other rule sets in the past. Of course, one can always make changes.

There is a need, for some people and for some genres.

To try to be clear -- players who share a sophisticated understanding of the game, and of the fantasy environment being modeled, do not need our army lists. And there is no need for 'every' fantasy environment possible -- obscure ones, or ones where the descriptions of the battles are not in great detail (and therefore it is hard to do it 'wrong' because there is no 'right'), don't really need representation. And there is no requirement (mandatory army list) even for the few fantasy environments that are sufficiently developed and deep to benefit from an army list.

But to introduce new players into the game, and to help develop their skills in creating army lists by providing examples of how to go about turning an understanding of a fantasy world into an army list for that fantasy world in Triumph, it is most definitely a benefit to have army lists for some famous and well developed fantasy worlds. How else will new players learn that Gandalf should not be represented the same as Thoth-Amon? That D&D Wizards are not the same as magic users in Tolkein, Moorcock, or Howard, and that each of them had very different ideas of how magic worked?

Undecided at this time. There are copyright concerns with some of the most famous environments, complicating the issue.

Email me if you want the current Third Age Middle Earth lists I've created for two dozen armies or so. They do need a bit more work (I haven't reexamined them in the last year) but are pretty good right now.

Thanks DK. At least Meshwesh is already free.

Maybe just having members post lists here on the Forum would be the best way. That would minimize the work load. (Is there the ability to have a files section?)

Distributing effort by engaging and supporting fan websites is one of our long-term goals. Ideally we'd like to have that linked directly in Meshwesh, but we haven't sussed out all the complications of that yet. Spambots and oversight requirements (for copyright, for community decency standards/profanity/etc, for relevance/to keep out unrelated advertising) are two downsides we need to consider -- we aren't interested in becoming full-time website managers.
