Paul, I've just spent an early morning hour reading through all 12 pages of your Middle Earth thread. Holy Cow. Not just your skill as a craftsman and fine painter, but the commitment of 5 years to duplicate the whole of Middle Earth on a tabletop. I'm saying that as a guy who had a framed wall map of Middle Earth over my bed as a high school kid in 1967 until years later when my wife suggested it was time to retire the faded map. If I were to pick out one of your many character projects that is the most striking it is your Ents and Treebeard. I'd forgotten the 'humanness' of Treebeard's appearance. My son lives in Sachse and I sure would enjoy seeing your tabletop live if you have it set up some weekend and would entertain a visitor.

Phil you have a guaranteed spot at the table when this thing launches! I have a few more troops to paint; maybe two dozen? And making the Campaign cards. So very close. Certainly by the summer.

I blame my brother Bill for this project. He gave me a copy of the "Ringbearer" game rules back in 1975, along with some of the old Minifigs fantasy figures. Look at this awesome map that came with the first edition:



The second edition had more generic map names after some legal issues arose.

Anyway, this map and the Ring bearer rules inspired me and now I have the resources make it a reality. After 50 years!
