What does Sword Armed Knights Represent?

Kurds, mostly. Whether fighting on their own or as mercenaries in a dozen other armies, or the Dynastic Kurdish army. But also a few other cases of melee-oriented mounted troops that were not as effective as lance/spear charging knights, but also don't fit the mold of JavCav, Cataphracts, and certainly don't work as Elite Cavalry or Horsebow. Swabian and Bavarian knights in the Carolingian Frankish army, for one example.
