I've just watched Rod's video "Later Crusader vs. Mameluk Part 1".
IMHO the "Shower Shooting" battle card is really effective. Too much effective ?
Moreover it seems effective as a defensive weapon : stand still, don't move, shoot, disrupt the enemy line and repeat. Is it WAD ?
Shouldn't be a preparation shot just before charging ?
I've zero historical knowledge of this tactic (and of historical tactics in general) and I speak as a simple gamer.
I would limit the effect : either by allowing the Shower Shooting only at the end of enemy's turn, or by stating that after the Shower Shooting the Elite Cav (or Cataphract) MUST charge.
My two cents

Shower Shoting
Re: Shower Shoting
Thanks for the input. Well we were actually thinking it was opposite before playing it out.
Remember it costs a point per stand, so the ability given to those elite cavalry cost 3 points.
Trying to process the rest of the video so you can see the results of the battle.
