Help with the standard wagon battle card

Hi all
The lads and I are planning a new campaign and while I was checking army lists I noticed the Neo- Assyrians can take a "Standard wagon" card. This grants a +1 in combat for units who's rear edge is in contact with the standard wagon. What happen to such a unit if it losses the combat but is not doubled/shattered. Does it fall back through the standard wagon, stay where it is, push back the wagon or just die?

cheers
Roundie

Die. You cannot pass through a standard wagon, and nobody can push a standard wagon back.

Works fine if you're facing Knights.

Not so good in the push and shove of elite or heavy infantry. But then, those armies didn't use Standard Wagons.

The Neo-Assyrian "standard wagon" (a bunch of divine standards in a decorative non-combat chariot) is a bit speculative, and doesn't appear as a significant feature in most of their battles. But it does get a mention, so it is included as a possibility. That doesn't make it wise, necessarily...

I don't think my mate will opt to take it but, I just wanted to have an understanding of the rules just in case.
