15mm Egyptian Camp

A work in progress. This camp is based on the Egyptian fortifications on the Nubian frontier. There is a good illustration of the walls at Buhen (1800 B.C.) in “Fortifications of Ancient Egypt” that served as inspiration. Some of the distinctive features of the Egyptian forts are half-circle crenellations, plastered brickwork, angled buttresses going about 2/3 of the way up the wall, and painted scenes designed to warn away enemies.
The wide panels around the gate will have colorful depictions of the Egyptian war god, Pharoah wearing the blue “war crown”, and the name of the fort in hieroglyphics. The walls will be white.
Components of this camp are wooden blocks, dollhouse trim for the crenallations, spackle, balsa wood, and brick columns from Baueda.
