15mm Early Yayoi Camp

Post by Texus Maximus » Tue Mar 05, 2024 9:02 pm

This camp features a circular "pit house" of the Jomon period in Japan. The pit house features a central pole surrounded by a shallow pit and supporting walls. This design was typical of the Jomon era, which lasted from 14,000 B.C. to approximately 300 B/C. when they were supplanted by the Yayoi culture.

The hut is a resin casting sold by Baueda. It is a decent approximation of reconstructed versions of Jomon pit houses, especially considering that the styles changed over time from small circular huts like this one to larger and more rectangular styles.

The stands of bamboo are cheap plastic versions found on eBay which have been painted a more realistic green and cut down in height to better fit 15mm scale.

A very nice looking camp Paul. Nice treatment of the bamboo.

Cheers,
