Re: War & Empire new Dark Ages Kickstarter
If you watch the Kickstarter video with painted samples of the figures (which are all excellent by the way)...the Late Roman figure at 7.25 into the video is my idea of what a Sub-Roman or Gallo-Roman (Soissons) warrior of the 400 AD+ period should look like. Not sure which code this is from in their proposed Late Roman range..they have separate codes proposed for comitatenses and limatanei, as well as legionaries in mail, leather and scale and Auxilia Palantina.

Re: War & Empire new Dark Ages Kickstarter
They look great. I am also very happy to see their Arthurian bonus range has been funded as well. I didn't see this stretch goal and assumed the Arthurian foot soldier in the first video was a limatanei from the late Roman range. Turns out he is most likely one of the Arthurian comitatus.
I need another Sub-Roman army like a hole in the head....but the credit card muscles are already twitching.
Next stretch goals -- the Steppe Hordes, Nike Byzantines, and Rus. With 17 days left and a weak dollar, I'm not sure how many of these they'll get funded.

Chris, RE SRB
I continue to tinker with multiple SRB armies over the years (thanks to you, Terry & Paul Potter).
I never am quite happy with my end result. So I may join you in the days ahead taking the plunge.
My last two attempts:

Re: War & Empire new Dark Ages Kickstarter
They both look great.
Problem for me with a SRB army is that I want to have a version that looks right for 400 AD vs. 600 AD, vs. 800 AD-1000 AD. Or put another way, one that's right for the Kingdom of Strathclyde and one that's right for the Dux Britanniarum and especially, one that fits what I think the army of Vortigern or Aurelius Ambrosius might look like. Same problem with my collections of Picts vs. Caledonians and Scots-Irish vs. Dalriadans. If I knew with any certainty what the Attecotti were or looked like, I'd have one of those as well.
