Did the Rus fire over their shieldwall?

I remember reading (years ago) that the Rus often had archers firing over their shieldwalls.
It has been a long time and I may be mis-remembering it. Does anyone have information on this?
This game has me looking at some of my old armies and I found some very dusty Rus. It got me thinking...
If this is true, would that indicate that they should have a battle card allowing this tactic (as discussed in other threads)?
Either way, I think I'll dust them off and give them a go...

The Rus will get the Skirmish Screen battle card on all their spear.
Also of interest to Rus players -- the Rus may have 0-5 of their Spear equipped as Mounted Infantry. (That's another Battle Card)

Now I am definitely dusting these boys off...
When will we get to see the battle cards?
I know you have a lot on your plate, so no pressure. I'm just curious.

Hoping for Cold Wars. What is that, end of March? Might be just in draft form, but I'd really like them to be mostly ready at that point.

There's the intellectual content of the battle cards, and then there is the other stuff... the card design, possible artwork, how they integrate into the complete system of battle cards, etc. I think the finished product is still a ways off, but making enough content available for you to use them in your games, not too far away!

Right -- I was thinking about the intellectual content (the way they work). Artwork may delay the printed cards in unpredictable ways, because we will want something nice.
