Meshwesh Keywords and Search Terms

Hey all,

We're in the process of improving the Meshwesh Search by introducing keywords for each army list, so armies with unique names (which is a good thing) will also come up on other appropriate searches not on that name. For example, "Lusitanians" should come up on a search for "Ancient Spanish", and "Pharnaces" should get a hit if you search on Mithradatic, Mithradates, Pontic, or Pontus.

This is going to be an ongoing process, and you can help. If you notice an army that should come up on a particular search but does not come up, could you let us know the details in this thread? It is easy enough for us to add another search key, but only if we think of it. This isn't a rush -- just post here if you search on a term and notice an army doesn't come up that maybe should.

Thanks!

It'd be nice if "Spartan" brought up some variant of Early Hoplite Greek. Undoubtedly analogously for various other poleis.

I didn't notice this thread... The most obvious non-match I've found so far is "Hannibal in Italy", which one can't find by searching for Carthagininan armies.

Speaking of which, where is the Early Hoplite Spartan list? I hope they're not represented by the Early Hoplite Greek: Other list. The Spartans of Thermopylae and Plataea are the Spartiates of legend! Not lumped in as Heavy Infantry with all the other Greek farm boys!

Good-o point-o. Fixing now. (The fix won't show until the next time Jack uploads the fixes, of course, which may be a week or so, as he's frantically working on the allies implementation at the mo).

Which other poleis would appear often enough to be worth putting in search terms? Corinth, Argos/Argive, Syracuse/Syracusan, ... any others? (Thessaly, Athens, Thebes, Sparta, and several others are already in separated-out lists) I'm not sure I want to put in 100 micro-poleis names here as search terms.

Crap. I had all that 6-12 months ago; at that point I did a reorg of the Early Hoplite lists and somehow the Spartans disappeared as a special list. Yes, they should have 2-4 Elite Foot.

Looking through the Early Hoppies there are another couple of allies-list errors too, although invisible to you guys until the allies lists are implemented on Meshwesh.

Fixing.

Ya, that was the poster child for the whole issue -- first one I did, before I even posted this thread.

"Boiotian" ought also find the Early Hoplite Greek: Theban list.

"Greek" doesn't turn up Later Hoplite Greek armies.

(I did find it under "hoplite" however...)
