Army list as XML

Post by Yong Stan » Wed Nov 08, 2017 8:47 am

Could the Army list be made available as an XML file.?
If that was possible, the many cleaver peoples on this list would very soon have a multitude of presentation formats on show.
You could then pick the best features of these for your own layouts.

Cheers,
Stan.

Probably not, Stan. We want to keep control over the master lists, in case we decide changes are required, or to fix errors or omissions. And we definitely do NOT want to have dozens of special-purpose lists out there where advocates of particular changes or interpretations put out their own lists indistinguishable from our own. If we release the source data in bulk then sooner or later (probably sooner) players are going to modify the lists to suit their own ideas of how things should be represented. Nothing wrong with differing ideas -- but we want there to be a single source for authoritative army lists.

It is easy enough to cut and paste it into a spreadsheet and then have a place to do your point totals easily.

I have been doing that with matched historical opponents and it is very helpful as you can go back without going back to Meshwesh or finding the print copy.
