Hi Guys,

In the Quick Reference Sheet, version 3/14/2017 spear is listed as giving rear support but in the rules (also version 3/14/2017) it seems only light spear (as well as pike, warrior and warband) give rear support (section 61.3 and appendix C.2). I would assume the rules are correct?

The QRS has been updated....

It was missing a couple of things regarding when support is given, but Spear should be off the latest version.

The QRS was not up to speed with the rule change on Spear.

Rules are correct. We took out Spear rear support.

It had existed to represent a number of cases of abnormally deep formations like the Thebans under Epaminondas and Pagondas and their inheritors. But during development we hadn't noticed that the invention of Heavy Foot two or three years ago meant that none of those guys were actually rated as Spear -- they're Heavy Foot.

Deep Formation is now a battle card available to a number of Later Hoplite Greek armies.
