Clarification regarding Elephant Screen(s)

Hello,

Have you "heard" the one about the new Triumph! player who liked armies with lots of elephants?

But seriously . . .

Units with elephant screens move at the unit's movement rate or at the elephant's pace? For example, Light Foot with an elephant screen: do they move 5 MU or only 4 MU?

Further, do units/groups with an elephant screen have to pay the extra command point cost associated with elephants?

I am guessing that it's is the slower rate of speed for the first inquiry and yes to the second question as well, since there are elephants involved.

Thanks for clarifying and or correcting my interpretations.

Cheers,
Chris

No, and no.

Units with elephant screen do not become more unwieldy. Units with elephant screen do not have a newly enforced maximum movement rate.

If either of those were true, it would be clearly spelled out in the battle card "Elephant Screen".

Rules for the movement of combat stands consisting of nothing but elephants (the standard Elephant stand) are not intended to apply to stands using a thin screen of elephants in front of their line. In the same vein, stands that can have Supporting Bow are not limited by the movement rate of the type of stand that provides the supporting bow (if Bow Levy or Archer -- Skirmishers already move at the maximum foot speed).
