They can go in the center.

You must deploy 24 pts of appropriate troops in the center.

Which means you can put any other (beyond 24 pts) battle line troops anywhere you want, whether in the center (if you wish) or in zones other than the center (if you wish).

Thanks. Even though I read it, I did not notice that both sides have to have 24 points in the centre zone. I like the way this works.
