Command Points to Cross an Obstacle
My Warring State Chinese army deployed four stands of buried stakes with a line of four light spear stands behind them. An Early Carthaginian group of four light Foot Stands want to attack across the obstacles with no combat penalty. How many command points will be required for the four Carthaginian Light Foot Stands to engage the Chinese behind the obstacles? I fear it will take 1 Pip per stand, but I want to check for the sake of the Carthaginian general.
Re: Command Points to Cross an Obstacle
4 command points, one per stand. Stands can cross rough terrain for one command point per column unless they are rabble or skirmishers. Rabble and skirmishers can cross for one point in any group formation.

Thanks, Rod. Another case of the rules meaning what they say. The Chinese general is very grateful.
BTW, Early Carthaginians vs Warring State Chinese is a really fun match-up. The ability of both armies' pair of chariots to 'quick kill,' ie shatter, most infantry stands while being able to retreat themselves in panic when doubled, gives both generals a blitzkrieg element which can open up the game really quickly.
