Re: Sabots for Lt. Foot to Rabble

I often do something similar when converting legacy "3Bw" into Bow Levy -- just glue a metal 40x30 to the bottom, then cut a length of balsa wood to fill the gap, then flock. Most of my Classical Indians are based/converted that way, and they look good.

Re: SIGNUP for Punic Wars! Campaign Theme -- Fall In 2018

What about Romans starting the list with both an "In Italy" and "Expeditionary" army list which they switch between as appropriate in the campaign? I haven't looked at the Carthaginian list, but perhaps they could do the same. It doesn't really work. If the expedition was for multiple years, perhap...

Re: SIGNUP for Punic Wars! Campaign Theme -- Fall In 2018

Likewise. Now, on to rebasing. David, there are chronological and geographic conditions in the Polybian Roman army list. I imagine that the date limits don't apply since they all can fit into the 2nd Punic War. What about the "Only in Italy" condition? For the Campaign Theme, if you take an army wi...

Re: North-Western American 1100 AD to 1770 AD

Any timing on updating this list? I just ordered 2 Tlingit armies from Eureka. A trip to the Royal BC Museum in Victoria a couple of years ago got me very excited about this warrior culture. (They also had a great traveling exhibit on Vikings at the time and the similarities in the water/mountain/w...

Re: Meshwesh minor errors and typos

(What's perhaps less appropriate is the moniker "javelinmen" - we don't apply it to legionaries or vikings, for all that those too would chuck pointy sticks before contact.) I suppose "javelinmen" is intended for troops who exclusively threw pointy sticks (i.e., didn't do much of anything else), ra...

Re: Meshwesh minor errors and typos

In the Sassanid lists, there are Skirmishers defined as "Skirmishing bowmen or javelinmen", which seems a bit odd since the definition of Skirmishers includes "long-range missile weapons", which javelins presumably aren't. Should the troop type be be Skirmishers or Rabble/Light Foot? Thanks, Andrea...

Re: Rule 67.2 a

You're right, I'm wrong, I need another cuppa. I missed that 67.2 is about the overlapping unit's contact with the friendly attacking stand - was thinking t'was on the overlapping unit's contact with enemy stand, which is left-corner-to-left-corner, or right-to-right-corner. Sorry to bother you. It...
