Good demo page of Triumph?
Hello! So I’m trying to drum up support for a triumph out here in the Bay Area. People are curious but I had one guy wonder about the type setting and overall quality of the rules…. How FOW and GW has spoiled everybody… Anyway I thought I could send him a scan of maybe the TOC and perhaps 1 sample r...

Re: Fortified Camps
8 points is nothing to sneeze at, as my Romans found out twice! Fortifying even an empty camp is a decent dis incentive, although I can’t imagine putting something like elite foot in there, as they are too valuable to take off the table, but it’s a thought…. 4+1+2=cf7!!

Re: Maneuver roll of 1
I see! I was concentrating on the 1 part but really that 1 is just everybody gets a chance to flank if you roll a 1, even if that means they lose the maneuver roll, and armies with the higher maneuver value will get to do it from skill (over luck). Exactly. One of the Crusader victories over the Tu...

Fortified Camps
A quick question that came up between Shawn Comrie and myself about fortified camps... My impression was that a camp gives the defender +1. Camp followers (i.e. camp with no garrison) are also cf +1. Thus an unfortified camp with just camp followers is: 1+1 = cf 2. An unfortified camp with a garriso...

Maneuver roll of 1
Hello again! About to show an old friend Triumph and have been going over the terrain set up rules again. I understand that a higher maneuver total will make you the “advantaged” player, you affect how much terrain, but why does a roll of 1 allow you to outflank the opponent? Is it to help balance t...

Re: Carthage vs Rome
Gorgeous looking figs, and table. Agreed that doubled 15mm bases look fantastic.
Nice report too! Very clear, and easy to read and follow.
Also a feasible sounding battle.
Nothing particularly "gamey" occurred, which is reassuring, although perhaps you were just playing it that way

Re: Triumph on a Square Grid
One of the biggest problems would be oblique battle lines and refused flanks. You'd probably have to allow elements to be part of a group if touching at a corner and make a group move legal if each element is touching only the same elements it was touching when the move started and its facing hasn'...
