Can you send me the link on that, Rod? I'm not sure I've got that written up in the battle card system.Rod wrote: Apparently they were even described as dismounting to fight on foot with two handed weapons.

Re: 15mm Khurasan Jurchen Jin
a platoon consisting of twenty armoured lancers with thirty lightly protected archers behind. Emphasis is placed on keeping formation and not charging precipituously. This is reminicent of Byzantine practices and presumably Elite Cavalry in Triumph! terms. Exactly. In this case the unit formation i...

Re: 15mm Khurasan Jurchen Jin
I know little about them specifically, but seems their roots were similar to other nomadic Horsebow armies. (a) they weren't nomadic tribes from the steppe; your roots statement isn't accurate (b) lots of lancers. Lances as a major part of tactics may mean Elite Cavalry or may mean Knights dependin...

Re: 15mm Khurasan Jurchen Jin
Ok, I did not realize there were armies that could not make it to 48 pts without an ally. The Belhae/Chinese contingent isn't really an ally; it is sort of subject troops/auxiliaries upon which the Jurchen Jin became quite dependent. But I'm glad you brought it to our attention; I'm thinking maybe ...

Re: 15mm Khurasan Jurchen Jin
You have to take the Bohai (Belhae) infantry, or else take an ally. One or the other.Rod wrote:Very cool figures, just looking on Meshwesh, it seems like this list might not be complete?
I only counted the ability to do 44 points tops?

Re: New Shooting Rules
One tidbit that came up: apparently at Formigny, English longbowmen preferred to charge, capture, and try to drag away French guns over simply shooting the gunners. While this doesn't directly tell us how effective the latter tactic should be, it does suggest that moving into close combat with Arti...

Re: Meshwesh minor errors and typos
Your explanation is clear enough, but, as you say, hard to infer from Meshwesh itself. Not sure how to better communicate it there, short of a note saying something to the effect of "These are Type III allies, which means you don't get a full Polish army in Grand Triumph!". Maybe changing the subor...

Re: Meshwesh minor errors and typos
The Polish allies for Hussites say "Full Army List: not available". Presumably this should be "Later Polish"? No, not actually. The internal database structure is necessarily rather complicated. Without going into database structure terminology, there are a variety of possibilities for "Allies". Hi...

Re: Meshwesh minor errors and typos
Hi all, The Golden Horde and Successors list has three slots of Horse Bow. One is the half-battle line 4/10 entry, another is 0/1 no battle line, and the last is 0/2 no battle line (min/max for each). That's not an error, it is just confusing because the color text on that army (army list 279a) isn...

Re: SIGNUP for Chariot Supremacy! Campaign Theme (Cold Wars: March 2018)
Signups are now ongoing. [Recent Changes: added Mike Guth and Wendy Myers. 10 signups now -- DK will play one of Syro-Canaanite, Early Lybian, Minoan, but hasn't decided yet] For anyone who has only one army (or has the firm intent to paint their first army within this theme for the event), as alwa...
