Re: Figure size comparison

The figures I've got are from the Viking and Saxon ranges. Apart from towering above my Donnington New Era vikings, they've got a distinctive style with big heads which looks odd if put next to more anatomically realistic figures, but allows for nicely characterful faces. It's just about possible to...

Does anybody know how 15mm Legio Heroica compare to 15mm Old Glory size-wise?
I don't have any OG figures, but the LH ones I have are quite large: significantly larger than Donnington New Era or Essex, say. About 17mm to the eye.

Re: Meshwesh minor errors and typos

The Chinese Northern Dynasties list begins in 317, but the first of the Northern Dynasties (Northern Wei) was established only in 386 (and only unified the North in 431). I guess the idea might be it covers predecessors like Dai (310-376, ruled by the same Tuoba clan that ruled the Northern Wei), bu...

Re: Meshwesh minor errors and typos

Incidentally, while I wouldn't claim to be a "pinyin expert", conversion between pinyin and W-G is largely mechanical and I would be happy to provide any help I can on that front. Most of the time I can also figure out the various non-W-G, non-pinyin transcriptions that randomly occurs in the WRG li...

Re: Meshwesh minor errors and typos

We've largely lost contact with our Pinyin expert; the only thing I'm sure of is that we hate Wade-Giles. Are you asking if we missed a transliteration? Quite possible. I believe the two lists correspond (I'll check later) -- is Qiang and Di the correct transliteration in Pinyin for the Wade-Giles ...

Re: Meshwesh minor errors and typos

The Later Philistine list have troop-types (spearmen and Gibborim) that are restricted to 1099-600 BC. That's the same time span as the list itself, so the restriction is pointless.

Re: Meshwesh minor errors and typos

The Southern Xiongnu list has the general listed as "Cataphracts or Knights", but the list doesn't contain any Knights as far as I can see. (I'm incidentally a bit skeptical about the classification of any Chinese or near-Chinese cavalry of the ca 300-600 period being Cataphracts in Triumph! terms: ...

Re: Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms

That's fine of course - it's not like I'm in an hurry here. While at it, I'll take the opportunity to remark that by the standards of game designers I've interacted with - and I'm by no means only thinking of the sometimes communication-challenged Barkers here - you're very good at acknowledging and...

Re: Meshwesh minor errors and typos

Are all lists supposed to have troop type descriptions now? I note that the Sabirs and the Chionites and Western Hephthalites lack them.
