DK, I like that approach. And you find the armies for sale exactly as you state - mixed shields and single theme shields (usually Spartan.) In additon to needing rabble, in buying a DBA hoplite army you need more hoplites as heavy foot at 3 points requires a couple more to get the point total up to ...

I appreciate you bringing up the topic to discuss, it is helpful in practically trying to apply it to figures in forming an army. Are you agreeing with the years on the lists? I have looked at this with our Frankish figure line in mind and it does seem cloudy to me. We have a Clovis figure in the T&R figure line. Battles of Lewes, Hab, Durazzo, and Arsuf with 48 point armies. Batttles will be available for play after Friday AM in the Triumph! Corner of the main room.
