Re: Hastings Part III the Conclusion

The feigned flight or false rout is built into Triumph with troops like Skirmishers and Jav Cav which can retreat (evade) when doubled in combat. The result being that the winning unit charges forward leaving it potentially exposed to an enemy counter attack. We had multiple incidents of this in the...

Re: Pike vs Spear

Legions overcome the pikes primarily because of the the flexibility vs the inflexibility of the Phalanx. Another interesting thing to look at is the deep formations that the Thebans started to use vs. the traditional hoplite formation. This was part of what Philip of Macedon took back with him from ...

A smaller block of pike with weakly protected flanks, less effective. A single pike man or even a handful of pike armed soldiers...

Re: Horse and Musket?

Actually I had prefered to go for 30YW too, but what draggs me away is the visual aspect. I have no idea how to make a pike and shot unit good looking on a 4cm wide base. Re: Horse and Musket?

There has been talk about expanding to later periods, but right now too many other items ahead of that.

But love to see what enthusiastic players develop, I have toyed with how to apply Triumph to 30 years war era, but not seriously yet.

Re: European retailer

Excellent, I hope you guys like the gauges.

To the best of my knowledge you have the only printed terrain cards outside the US :)

Re: Battle of Hastings Part 1

When moving as a group in rough terrain, most troops have to pay extra command points (essentially one command point for each column in the group). A group which is made entirely of rabble and skirmishers does not.

Hope that helps?
