Re: Meshwesh minor errors and typos
Sassanids again: The Early list has "Asavran catafractarii" and "Asarvan clibinarii"; the adjective should in each case be "Asvaran", as in the Middle list. (Modern Persian apparently has metathesized savaran "horsemen", at which point the IE roots get a little hard to discern. The as-/sa- represent...

Re: cataphract generals
Under v1, War Wagons are completely immune to shooting by Archers, Pavisiers, or other War Wagons, whereas Horse Bow and Skirmishers cannot be destroyed merely by being shot at by artillery (tho they can still be pushed off the edge of the Earth by it). Skirmishers also cannot be destroyed merely by...

Re: Meshwesh minor errors and typos
I suppose "javelinmen" is intended for troops who exclusively threw pointy sticks (i.e., didn't do much of anything else), rather than be applied to any troops that ever threw pointy sticks. Yes; and what I'm wondering is how exclusively those Indians were dedicated to stick-chucking. Fighting in a...

Re: Meshwesh minor errors and typos
There are Indian javelinmen rated as Heavy Foot. They're supposed to have fought in a rather static style, so it's likely appropriate. (What's perhaps less appropriate is the moniker "javelinmen" - we don't apply it to legionaries or vikings, for all that those too would chuck pointy sticks before c...

Re: Meshwesh minor errors and typos
In the Sassanid lists, there are Skirmishers defined as "Skirmishing bowmen or javelinmen", which seems a bit odd since the definition of Skirmishers includes "long-range missile weapons", which javelins presumably aren't. Should the troop type be be Skirmishers or Rabble/Light Foot?

Re: Meshwesh minor errors and typos
Less an error than an oddity, perhaps, but the technical terms in the Medieval Danish and Union of Kalmar list mixes Swedish and Danish. Assuming you want it all in Danish, the following substitutions should be made: Fraelse -> Frelse Smaasvenner -> Smaasvende (or Småsvende in post-1948 orthography)...

Exactly when is the Triumph time-frame supposed to end, BTW? Meshwesh currently has two lists starting later than AD 1502 (League of Cambrai Spanish and Neo-Inca).David Kuijt wrote:Andreas Johansson wrote: Right, that starts at 1502, outside the Triumph timeframe.
