Re: Front contact priority
If you want to have the Knights attack and the Bow Levy assist, then hit the flank of the Elite Foot with the Knights, then move the Bow Levy up to overlap -- NOT TO FIGHT THE FRONT. Wow, it looks good. Did I understand you correctly? When I move Knights in flank contact, the enemy stand loses ZOC ...

Re: Front contact priority
But if we allowed the option you suggest, suddenly it would become a great relief for troops to be attacked on the flank by skirmishers or rabble -- because if they survived the first attack (tied) then they would be nearly totally safe on their own turn, because instead of having to fight the Elit...

Front contact priority
Hello! Could you explain, why a stand, that is attacked from both front and flank, must fight with front stand? I find it illogical. For example, the Bow Levy attack Elite Foot from the front and Knights from flank. In my opinion, Bow Levy just irritate Elite Foot, while Knights strike the main blow...

Re: Post Mongol Russian
I understand your suspicions of bias, but I want to pay attention to the next moment. In Soviet literature, especially historical literature, an ideology must have been present - otherwise the work would not have been published. However, it often came down to the presence of “ritual phrases” and did...

Conquistadors army?
Are you planning to add a conquistadors army list? We played in DBA 2.2 with home-maded list, which was like this: 2хBd, 1хCv or Kn, 2хBw (arquebuses + crossbows), 1xArt + allied Indians: 4xAx or Wb or Hd, 2xPs So, Triumph! list can be like this: General: Elite Foot or Knights 1-2 Elite Foot 0-1 Kni...

Re: Post Mongol Russian
Classical works on the military affairs of Russia belong to A. Kirpichnikov (А. Кирпичников). I think that this is his most helpful work: Kirpichnikov A. N. Military affairsin Russia in the 13th-15th centuries - Leningrad: Sience, 1976 (Кирпичников А. Н. Военное дело на Руси в XIII—XV вв. — Ленингра...

Post Mongol Russian
In the Post-Mongol Russian army list, the main part of army was represented by 1-2 Elite Cavalry and 4-8 Horse Bow. It's ok forthe 15th century but really strange for the 14th and especially 13th century. Mass transition from spear to bow and saber is a part of orientalization, which occurred in the...

Re: Medieval French
I'm not trying to say that someone was better or worse, I just say that they were different. I was upset by the lack of differences in the DBA and I hoped to see them here. :) Absense of pavises in Cresy was accidental and not typical for this troops. In next famous battle, Poitiers, they fought wit...

Medieval French
I'm going convert my DBA army into Triumph! format, so have some questions. Why Genoese crossbowmens are archers, not pavisers? As far as I know, they used pavises. Furthermore, description of the troop type contains Italian Medieval pavisiers as example. Isn't Genoa an Italian city? :D Secondly, wh...
