Re: Spartacus Army in 15mm

A few more photos of the rabble and javelin cavalry, and two extra stands just for fun. http://i764.photobucket.com/albums/xx281/ppecena/Spartacus%202.jpg http://i764.photobucket.com/albums/xx281/ppecena/Spartacus%203.jpg http://i764.photobucket.com/albums/xx281/ppecena/Spartacus%204.jpg

Re: Spartacus Army in 15mm

Here is the first half of the army. I made some modifications as I painted, so I ended up with 10 rabble. This is 24 points worth of troops. The next step is to paint a stand of elite foot and several stands of ex-slaves with Roman equipment. http://i764.photobucket.com/albums/xx281/ppecena/Spartacu...

Re: Spartacus Army in 15mm

Here is more work in progress. The first stand has been primed black, drybrushed white, and the stand has been covered with model railroad sand that was then stain-painted dark brown. All my paints are water-based craft paints from Hobby Lobby. The second stand has some basic paints applied. The bas...

Re: Libyans - Possible Battle Card

Taking this battle card (as proposed) has some risk of wasting the points, because it would have to be included in your army composition before the battle is set up. One might pay for the card and end up being the one who moves first anyway. This might justify a lower cost.

Libyans - Possible Battle Card

I found a reference in "Armies of the Ancient Near East" (WRG) for a dawn attack by Libyan forces against the Egyptians that might make a good battle card. The Libyans tried a dawn attack in an apparent attempt to overcome Egyptian superiority in missile fire. The effect in the game could be allowin...

Re: Spartacus Army in 15mm

Here are some shots of the Rabble (11 stands) for this army. I used a wide variety of figures, including some conversions. Most of the figures are War and Empire, with Old Glory, Xyston, Blue Moon, Black Hat, Eureka, and some others filling out the rest. http://i764.photobucket.com/albums/xx281/ppec...

Spartacus Army in 15mm

Here is the command stand (Javelin Cavalry) for my Spartacus army in 15mm. Both horses are from Donnington. The commander is an Old Glory Breton cavalryman, with a Xyston head and a sword arm from a War and Empire gladiator. The other soldier is a War and Empire figure with a head from a Museum (?) ...

15mm Roman buildings

I am building a pair of armies based for Triumph! - Spartacus and Marian Roman - and need a recommendation for 15mm Roman buildings of the era. I am looking specifically for resin buildings.

15mm Scythians

Some of you may recall the old Falcon brand 15mm Scythians that were available years ago. Apparently this line was bought by Lurkio and reworked in 2017 to make them more interesting and robust. Here is a link to the blog post so you can see how they were modified: http://lurkio.co.uk/blog/archives/...
