Re: Rabble in Hoplite Armies

DK, We appear to be violently in agreement about anchoring, marketing and individualizing introduction of new gamers and meeting them where they are at. My original question was just to see what others had done with their legacy Classical Greek armies. As a frequent buyer of DBA, FOG and other syste...

Also, Friday AM, 4 historical match ups featuring Knights.

Battles of Lewes, Hab, Durazzo, and Arsuf with 48 point armies. Batttles will be available for play after Friday AM in the Triumph! Corner of the main room.

On Facebook I’ve posted pictures from a play test of Durazzo, 1081.

Re: Have you tried a Bronze Age / Bilical era game yet?

You are right it is different.

If it was fun and attractive in the past to non-DBA gamers, it should be even better now.

Re: Have you tried a Bronze Age / Bilical era game yet?

I think you are right about the nature of the battles. We did a DBA Biblical Armies tournament at Adepticon, pre- Triumph! It was very enjoyable, we got 16 players, and the Egyptians did not dominate as much as one might guess. Two other observations: 1- There’s no real formula for how to use chario...

Nice. Distinctive 15mm buildings can be a bit hard to find.

Re: 15mm Sumerians

Those are some great ideas for expanding the battlefield to include some additional period visuals. Thanks.

Re: Rabble in Hoplite Armies

Thanks DK. That is exactly the picture I was thinking about in the Osprey book after reading your first reply. I think the only point of disagreement is a belief on my part that people commonly use a practical 'anchoring' technique in their thinking. For gamers it is anchoring from one game system t...
