Re: Unit Types in Fantasy Triumph

Roger, yup something like that Powers will not act exactly like other units because they are sort of a different scale in number/size and in, well, Power :)

We definitely want a mechanism to add those characters to the games, but without a huge rules overhead or breaking the game.

Re: Rules for sieges?

Not really in the scope of the rules, we have campaign rules for doing a campaign in a convention setting. if doing an extended campaign a siege might come into play, but sieges are not what people typically play on a miniatures table. So this would likely be a die roll off. What you see on the tabl...

Re: Unit Types in Fantasy Triumph

Well they are still in development so hard to comment on them as they are unfinished. Conceptually we want a way to represent a character like Gandalf or Conan and their impact on a large battle without breaking the basic rule mechanism. Easy to say not so easy to do. Conceptually they are very diff...

Re: Front contact priority

Combat breaks ZOC, so yes you can attack with the knight occupying the elite foot, support with the bow levy.

Plus bow levy only move 2MU, so ZOC only stops them entering combat with another unit.

Re: Front contact priority

I would suggest a few more play tests, the front contact priority and the flank rules were carefully thought through and play tested to avoid some fairly weird game situations. For example touch and turn makes it too easy for light troops to take apart formations like pike blocks or heavy foot lines...

Re: Opposing Units in Side Edge Contact Only

Side edges touching counts as overlap (for both), but the two units are not in combat.

Re: Pikes don't Suck Video is Up

Thanks Bill, I was hoping it was not too boring watching me play. I frequently find these sort of matchups come down to the flanks, i.e. nobody has enough advantage in the center to really break through. So frequently the flank battles will ultimately decide it. The Romans might have wanted to go wi...
