Re: Livonian questions

What's up with Teutonic Order cataphracts? As far as I know, the Order's cavalry is noted for neither extra-heavy armour nor a lack of élan. (Some later German cavalry in Germany is noted as unenterprising, which I guess accounts for the cataphracts there - though these guys are also said to be poo...

Re: Reading Army Lists

Ok, thanks for the explanation. So there can be 2 archer units but there would perhaps be a distinction be in the types of miniatures used for each unit of archers. Exactly. And the archers are time-limited, so you are playing in a campaign/tournament that is at 1140 AD you could have the Welshry b...

Seems to be resolving; it's possible that I'll be able to host on the 11th. Not sure yet.

Re: DC Metro Area Gaming: February

Scott and Tim -- sorry I haven't posted anything about tonight; my mother-in-law had a medical issue over the weekend up in Pennsylvania and my weekend got turned into a steaming pile of chaos. So there won't be any gaming this week regardless. I'll try to post something about later in the month.

Re: Reading Army Lists

For the Anglo-Norman army list it says Max 1 Archer for 1120AD to 1181AD and it has a separate line for Max 1 Archer for 1151AD to 1181AD. If you are fielding the army in 1160AD that falls within both, does that mean the Max is 2 archers? Correct. But note that the 1120+ archer is Welsh bowmen , an...

Re: Meshwesh minor errors and typos

The Maccabean Jewish Trained Army lists general as being Knights, raiders or light infantry. There are no light infantry. That will be resolved once allies appear -- the Maccabees have an internal ally from 152 BC to 104 BC (the whole period of the Trained Army) that is a wad of Light Foot or Rabbl...

Re: Meshwesh minor errors and typos

The "Early Abassid" list should be "Early Abbasid". Database already shows Abbasid -- I must have fixed that last month some time, after the last upload but far enough ago that I do not recall doing so. It should show up the next time an upload happens (maybe before Friday, depending upon other fac...

Re: Triumph! and search engines

Most of the searches for DBA return "doing business as" and "database administrator" results. In the 90s a search on my last name would return mostly items having to do with my father (who has 50 years of publications having to do with South American parasitic plants), my medieval hobby, and my brot...

Hi Spencer;

We would only have three of us, and Scott might not even check his email between now and tomorrow morning, so it looks like the notice is too short. Sorry.
