Re: "Doubled" result

Geeze, I hate superspecial cases.

Ya, we should probably put some text in there to cover that (really rare) case.

Although we could just say "hey, if your modified roll is a 0, you're just DEAD DEAD DEAD." That would be amusing.

Re: Move distance in difficult terrain.

You're correct. Except for Warwagon and Artillery, who are foot but cannot move at all in difficult terrain. The main rules effect of difficult terrain on foot is to make it cost more command points to move them there (same as with mounted, of course) because group moves across difficult terrain cos...

Re: Tibetan

This is from memory, so bear with me. IIRC, after the 11th century the Tibetan empire collapsed and no longer appears on the stage of history. There is a large amount of overlap between the Tibetans and the Tangut who had several kingdoms in the region that is north of Tibet proper, just south of th...

Early Russians

This is a continuation of the ongoing discussion over the last month or more (mostly on the TRIUMPH! playtester discussion forum, which is going to be phased out now that we have this larger community TRIUMPH! forum up and running) regarding the Druzhina cavalry of the Early Russians. Without briefi...

Re: Group moves.. clarification

Played 4 more games tonight and uncovered a few more questions for clarification. Re my earlier comment on article 35, to clarify my situation say I have a group of 3 archers in front and 3 knights in contact behind them all facing the same, do they constitute a group and can be moved with one CP? ...

Re: Column contacted on flank

The rule should be in 55.2, but as written 55.2 only covers conforming when multiple stands hit a single one (both flanks and rear in the worst case). It doesn't cover when a single stand hits several (one with true flank contact and one or more with leftover frontage) and how to make room. Use the ...

Re: WOTR Yorkist Army Question

If you're working on a Yorkist (not R3) army, the stands I mentioned for Shire Levy will give you the additional options. If you take the Shire Levy you get:
  • 0-1x Heavy Foot (Shire Levy billmen)
  • 1-6x Archer (Shire Levy bowmen)
All in addition to the other troops you mentioned.

Re: Battle Cards

Some are zero points; some are negative points; most are positive points. Some examples: Kallapani (Mounted Infantry): some stands in some armies have mounts that give them greater mobility. Still fight on foot; can't remount after they dismount, blah blah blah rules. +1/2 point per stand with this ...

Minor correction: the men-at-arms dismount as Elite Foot, not Heavy Foot.

Re: WOTR Yorkist Army Question

The main thing you're missing is Allies. Bear with me, as this is a complex explanation. Some army lists are structured to have "internal" allies. For example, any War of the Roses army may take Shire levy -- or they may not take any Shire levy. If they take Shire levy they get an additional 0-1x He...
