A different kind of Issus

Gentlemen, Employed GRAND TRIUMPH! Rules in this attempt to refight a version of Issus. Here is the link, but fair warning, the narrative runs to approximately 9,000 words. https://nopaintingrequired.blogspot.com/search/label/An%20Itch%20for%20Issus For those who persevere, you have my admir...

Re: Franks vs Several Opponents

Cheers Bill, Thanks for taking the time to read and comment. Yes, it was more of a faux tournament as opposed to my usual fare. (Have three historically-focused posts in queue.) You may or may not find this link of interest. It was shared by a gentleman over on the SoA Forum: You might be interested...

Re: Byzantines vs Egyptians

Hello there TM,

Thanks for taking the time to reply/comment.

Heard much the same regarding the availability and cost and so forth in the early years regarding the match-ups that would grace a number of tables. Back then (and I would argue today, still), the play was the thing.

Cheers,
Chris

Re: Spartans vs Vikings: It’s finally finished . . . or is it?

But even there, I STILL have my first love of historical wargaming was DBA, which has turned into Triumph! and so I will always return to it. Some great looking tables out there. Especially excited by double or triple Triumph! that I think can really look like a proper set of battle lines, and not ...

Hey Vodnik,

Thanks for reading and replying.

I can appreciate your preference. Due to the expense and talent required, I have opted to go in another direction.

You had no other remarks, thoughts, or judgments about the reports?

Thanks again for taking the time.

Cheers,
Chris

Re: Spartans vs Vikings: It’s finally finished . . . or is it?

Greedo (aka Chris - cool name by the way ;) ), Thanks very much for taking the time to read and comment. Almost fell off my chair. Typically, I will get a number of views but only very rarely a response. Appreciated. Agree with with on TTS! I really should try to stage more games using this innovati...

Spartans vs Vikings: It’s finally finished . . . or is it?

Fellow wargamers, The TRIUMPH! rules were employed to play three games featuring these historical favorites of film, literature and TV. (I suppose I should include podcasts in there as well . . .)
