Re: 15mm Lord of the Rings Figures
Phil you have a guaranteed spot at the table when this thing launches! I have a few more troops to paint; maybe two dozen? And making the Campaign cards. So very close. Certainly by the summer. I blame my brother Bill for this project. He gave me a copy of the "Ringbearer" game rules back in 1975, a...

Re: 15mm Lord of the Rings Figures
I built a Minas Tirith model using a wooden birdhouse, an aquarium decoration tower, and towers from a broken Airfix Robin Hood castle kit from the 1960s. The problem is that it didn't match the look of the other terrain - Orthanc and Barad Dur were made by the same builders (in the book) and have a...

Using a Light Box
Greg recently asked about how I photograph my figures, so I am sharing my techniques and equipment here. Disclaimer - I am not a photographer so I am sure my methods could use improvement. Please feel free to share your own techniques here. I am always willing to learn and adapt. Starting with a hau...

Re: 15mm Tang Chinese
Thanks everyone, I am glad you enjoyed this army. I saw this as an opponent for my Heian-era Japanese and knew almost nothing about Chinese military history so I enjoyed the reading and obsessed over getting just the right look.

Re: 15mm Tang Chinese
That's a great idea, I will get something posted about the light box as my next project.

Re: Akkad vs. Gutium
My idea for the next time is to use the same formation (Bow Levy backed by Warband) but delay contact with the Pikes as long as possible. Try to defeat the Not-Pikes parts of the enemy army. Also, in that second game I charged into the Pikes. It would be better to let the Pikes contact first. The in...

Akkad vs. Gutium
"Gutium, the fanged snake of the mountain ranges, a people who acted violently against the gods, people who the kingship of Sumer to the mountains took away, who Sumer with wickedness filled, who from one with a wife his wife took away from him, who from one with a child his child took away from him...

15mm Tang Chinese
Overview https://i.postimg.cc/7LTsCMHh/IMG-3651-EDIT.jpg The Early Tang Chinese army list starts at 618 AD when the Tang Dynasty, led by The Li Yuan (later Emperor Gaozu), was established following the collapse of the Sui Dynasty. The Tang era is considered a 300-year "golden age" (618–907 AD) of p...
