Re: Later Crusader in 15mm

I like the paint jobs; the archers in particular look nice. Also the horses look great!

Re: 15mm Light Spear

If you are looking for dark ages or medieval type figures, I would take a look at the "Feudal Castings" line. They have some Scots infantry with spears and no shields. They could work for many periods - shaggy hair, beards, tunic, trousers. Plus they are nice castings. They were sold for a while as ...

15mm Akkadians

Sargon the Great, starting from humble beginnings and with a single city-state (most likely located in what is now Baghdad) at his command, built an empire that spanned Mesopotamia and is referred to as the first empire in the ancient Near East. His instrument of conquest was the Akkadian army. It i...

15mm Akkadian Camp

This 15mm camp was inspired by the “Victory Stele of Naram-Sin”, an Akkadian carving from about 2250 B.C. currently at the Louvre. The Louvre describes it as “ major work illustrating the imperial art of the Akkadian Dynasty, this victory stele celebrates the triumph of King Naram-Sin over a mountai...

Re: 15mm Sumerian Camp

Here is my third and final Sumerian camp - an armory in the woods next to a road. Some soldiers are helping repair a broken-down straddle car. https://i.postimg.cc/yYKzbk4p/IMG-2022.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/cCRGJNYc/IMG-2023.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/y6cHj05S/IMG-2024.jpg The building is from Crom's ...

Re: 15mm Sumerian Camp

Thanks for the positive feedback. And welcome to the Forum, Brummbar! Gregorius, this is the original camp, which I cut down to a more manageable size with a hobby saw. It was about 15 minutes worth of work. Then I made a new base and added the figures. On a related note, I made a second Sumerian ca...

Re: 15mm Sumerian Camp

My "walls of Ur" camp seemed to be lacking something, so I made some modifications. Here is Sumerian Camp 2.0. https://i.postimg.cc/NjvFWSx0/Sumer-Camp-2-0.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/2SdymGH7/Sumer-Camp-2-0-Front.jpg List of changes: 1. The walls are shorter. Now the camp fits in the box with the troo...

Re: 15mm Elamites

Here are a few more stands of "Pike" for the Awan Dynasty Elamite list. It is hard to find much information on what Elamite spearmen or pikemen should look like, so I decided a rectangular wicker shield, a plain short-sleeve tunic that reaches down to the knees, and a spear held in one hand would be...

Re: 15mm Elamites

I did use the Elamites once, in a battle with the Sumerians. They have some advantages - there are so many of them you can overlap the enemy on both flanks. Having so many 2-point stands allows the army to absorb a lot of losses. They are good against mounted troops. That did not help any with this ...
