15mm Libyans

These Libyans are based on the illustrations found in Osprey’s “Army of the Pharaohs” and a wall painting in the tomb of Seti I. The command stand (Warband) and Skirmishers are Old Glory figures. The Rabble stand ( only 18 more to go!) has a Khurasan figure in the middle and two Eureka figures.

Re: Early Egyptian vs. Nubians

Game 2 ended in another disaster for the Nubians. Alternating the Archers and Warband did help the line survive the initial Raider attack.

Re: Early Egyptian vs. Nubians

The game ended in disaster for the Nubians. The Raiders destroyed two Archers, including the general, on first contact. The Nubian warbands made some gaps in the Bow Levy line by pushing them back, but became fragmented by pursuits. The Raiders exploited the gaps in the Nubian Archer line and ended ...

Early Egyptian vs. Nubians

I played a solo game to try out my new Egyptian and Nubian armies. Egypt had the lower invasion score and selected Dry topography, wanting to have minimal terrain so that the Raiders could move more freely. There was a single patch of Rough terrain on tje Egyptian baseline. Egypt also had the tactic...

15mm Nubians

This Nubian army is based on the illustrations found in an Osprey book on the Egyptian army and also one of the old WRG guides. There are six stands of Archers, three Skirmishers, and five Warband. All the figures are by Old Glory, except for one old Feudal Castings figure.

15mm Nubian Camp

This camp depicts the C-Group culture (2400 BC to 1500 BC) of southern Nubia, who were “farmers and semi-nomadic herders keeping large numbers of cattle in an area that is today too arid for such herding”. (General History of Africa, 1981). Another source describes their dwellings as circular, made ...

Re: 15mm Egyptians

One last set of pictures. Here are a few civilians and buildings to portray any Village terrain. The civilians are Essex, Blue Moon, and Xyston figures. One has a head swap using a piece from Peter Pig. I believe the goat is from Irregular. The buildings are by Crescent Root Studios. Finally, the we...

Re: 15mm Egyptians

I have finished enough stands that can pass for an Early Egyptian army. I went with six stands of Raiders instead of eight of Heavy Foot. These “”Menfat” shock troops will probably spend a lot of time fighting Libyans and Nubians in rough terrain, so being in open order and moving faster will help. ...
