Re: Campaign Book General Structure

Happy to hear that things are still moving forward - and still thrilled for the things to come... We actually made a huge amount of progress in June -- just sadly mostly invisible to the outside. Hope that you will have a good and relaxing time in France! I will eat some wine and cheese on the rive...

Re: Campaign Book General Structure

Anything new? :( FT work was bumped to the front of the queue, but I finished up the FT draft a month or more ago. Battle Card work is done now, mostly. There are two things not under our control -- interacting with the artist for the final artwork (DS is the lead on that, but I'm involved), and in...

Re: Pleistocene Hunter-Gatherers of the Nile Valley

Some very interesting results in that article. For example, it doesn't seem like there was significant gender bias in the injuries, including healed PIM, which means both genders would participate in the raids or skirmishes that created them. Weapons seem to have been mostly light arrows, heavy arro...

Re: Pleistocene Hunter-Gatherers of the Nile Valley

Nice, Chris! Do you have figure suggestions? What about Hero figures?

As a very minor quibble, consider Rabble instead of Skirmisher -- looking at the descriptions you gave, Rabble seems more in tune with the way you spoke of them.

Re: Cortés/Alvarado/Pizarro

For what’s it’s worth, they had 1000 Spaniards at the Siege of Tenochtitlan (plus many thousand Tlaxcala’s allies. I disagree that it wasn’t a military conquest. Granted there were other factors (Divine intervention?), but battles, sieges, and alliances were critical. Be careful with your cite -- I...

Re: Cortés/Alvarado/Pizarro

Why is there no Spanish list to fight the Central and South Americans? Sorry about the delayed response -- I'm on vacation in beautiful British Columbia, where the haze from the forest fires barely obscures the moon. As Rod says. The total number of Conquistadors was microscopic -- in the one battl...

Yeah, I am trying to come up with a cool basing style.

I think the Tomb Kings will be easier to base, sand with more sand.
Right, no complication of vegetation, because ... desert.

Re: GW Lizardmen

Cool beans, Rod. I'm nearly done with my Lizardmen on 80mm bases as well. Just need to finish painting and dipping the command stand and one Hero, and then do all the basing rigamarole (goop, wash, drybrush, flock, add lots of extra foliage because Jungle). I'll post some shots when I'm done. Mine a...

Re: Bow Levy

Good points. I'm not attacking the excellent rules and your refreshing approach, just seeking to air an alternative view and some genuine questions. Maybe I'm still fixed on Bow(Inferior). I'll leave it there. Thanks for the props! I'm not trying to squish alternative views, so I'll leave off with t...

Re: Bow Levy

Not arguing about your idea right now, but pointing out some issues in your supporting arguments for pedantry's sake. Well, not just for pedantry -- hoping some of those reading this will get a more nuanced view on a complicated subject. Here's my case: Training a man to use a bow is a lot more invo...
