Re: Away rules/battle cards

This is a very good point, and part of why it has been so OP in our games. We usually houserule the win conditions to make the matches last longer and feel less random in who wins. We didn't see anything that would be thrown off balance by that, but you're rignt, Away would be much stronger with ou...

Re: Away rules/battle cards

Thanks for your feedback, and we're glad you like the rules. With regard to the overuse (abuse) of Away, make sure you are tracking casualties well. It is very hard to use Away after the early game; as once you've taken some casualties it is easy to do what one of my opponents did -- took some units...

It takes an additional command point for a flying stand to engage a non-flying stand. What happens when a non-flying stands tries to engage a flying stand?
Combat.

Flying stands are not "over" the battlefield in an unreachable sense. If you want to be unreachable, you gotta go Away.

But darn, the Brits really are a handsome bunch of barbarians, so they won't gather too much dust on the shelf.
So true.

Re: What army is worse than Ancient British?

Nine-Bows Libyan is worse.

I've won lots of games with the mighty Neo-Babylonians with 16 Bow Levy, and those are probably worse.

Depends what you mean by "worse", of course :)

Re: Light Spear Rear Support & Support by Archers

After several days without a reply from David or Rod on my question of light spear stands with a supporting archer mounted on the stand for a +1 close combat factor against mounted opponents also being able to be supported by another light spear to their rear for another +1 factor in close combat, ...

Re: New Fall back move just some thoughts

Due to the new Fall back move being 1 mu instead of base depth , I find my line of knights do not get their line broken up as easily against other Cavalry types . Being pushed back 1 mu doesn't require extra command points to move forward since they are still in a legal group formation . Knights ha...

I was thinking a bit about this, is this historical behaviour?
Yup. Battle of Kephissos, for one -- Duchy of Athens vs. Catalan Company. Lots of other examples.
