Re: Campaign Book General Structure

By the way: you really ruined my passion for any other ruleset with this one here, you bastards  :D  :D  :D Excellent. Sorry, I'm extremely busy this week with start-of-semester stuff -- I'll try to give you some real data later in the week, or perhaps early next week. Pa...

Re: Babylonian-Hittite-Elimite-Medes army info

Note that the Elamites appear as opponents in some of these reliefs. For Babylonians, they should be a mix of Elamite and Assyrian -- their ruling class was Assyrian, and their main base population Elamite, IIRC. The Hittites didn't exist at that point -- a number of smaller Neo-Hittite powers exist...

Re: Babylonian-Hittite-Elimite-Medes army info

Hi Can anyone recommend any good resources for the ancient armies listed in the title? I'm currently rebasing/repainting my old 28mm Assyrian figures at the moment and have enough to build both an Assyrian and Babylonian army. Can't seem to find anything online about the look of the Babylonians or ...

Re: Flanking groups

I agree that any troops are vulnerable to flank attacks. However, in this case, it turns out that cavalry - light cavalry included - is much more vulnerable than slow-moving heavy foots. It seems unrealistic to me, since in an open formation there is less difference between the front and the flank,...

Re: Fantasy Playtest # 5 Dark Elves vs Kushan

Its simple. She regarded her Kushan as 'Human' as they did not have any of the magic effects the Dark Elves had. She felt this was unfair...But as I pointed out to her this was not, as the magic the Dark Elves had, cost them more points, making their army smaller/less strong than they could be. (DB...

Re: Fantasy Playtest # 5 Dark Elves vs Kushan

Sounds like a great time! Query: 1. As my daughter pointed out, is it fair to pit Fantasy vs Human? I explained that Fantasy paid the extra points for their 'magic' and that the point structure should help balance things out. (I think having Kushan the points cost of their Cataphracts and Elephant m...

Any update on the campaign book by chance?
Sorry, top secret information. Can't discuss it until 2022.

Re: Mongol Feedback

Not much fun, but maybe a "crap your pants" 1D6 roll by the Mongol enemy before the game starts. If a 1, 2 or 3 is rolled, the Mongol opponent loses that many units before set-up. Like I said, not much fun but probably historically accurate. Not historically accurate; not necessary to make the Mong...

That was actually my first thought 👍🏻, but I don't remember the Warmaster 10mm line having skirmishers, so I was trying to avoid that option.
Take some Archers and base them dispersed and fewer-of, and you've got Skirmishers.

Re: 10mm Lord of the Rings / Warhammer

I suggested downgraded elite cavalry to give them some extra resilience (in lieu of dismounting as skirmishers), There aren't any stat-downgrade battle cards (no negative versions of Prowess, Deadly, or Hearten). Making them Fierce or Brittle or Slow might count as a downgrade in terms of their poi...
