Re: TRIUMPH! Events at Fall In! 2018

There is a Franco-Scottish army in the Flowers of Chivalry theme, so that makes sense. It is the only battle involving Scottish troops on the continent in that period I could find. I though that you were trying to suggest that Scots are not chivalrous. :D Perish the thought! At some point, when you...

Re: TRIUMPH! Events at Fall In! 2018

That makes sense. At some point, when you have time, it would be nice to have a paragraph on each theme to describe the inclusion parameters and why the theme is significant historically. If a theme is just a catch-all for tournament purposes then you can say that too. There are bigger themes and t...

Not rigid. I wouldn't use them. For sabots you want it not to be floppy at all.

Re: TRIUMPH! Events at Fall In! 2018

I'll check when I get home. Two possibilities occur to me -- could be an inadvertent omission (a mistake), or it could be that Great Britain has its own sets of themes and British armies not appearing on the continent don't get admission into themes like that. Medieval Irish, for example -- is that ...

What game system are the movement trays for, John? Triumph doesn't use anything like that.

Re: Sabots for Lt. Foot to Rabble

Do you have a source for the 40 mm x 30 mm metal bases or do you make them? The metal ones I buy, as I don't have precision metal cutting tools in my basement. (I've got a lot of other tools, but not those). I don't recall the source offhand -- something Japanese sounding. Katana? Samurai? Ashigaru...

Re: SIGNUP for Punic Wars! Campaign Theme -- Fall In 2018

The original posting was for a Punic Wars campaign, but later postings specified that it was a Second Punic War Campaign. Is there a reason for that? Because I never think about the First Punic War? It didn't have Hannibal so it wasn't cool? By the way are there any Battle Cards available in this c...

Re: Sabots for Lt. Foot to Rabble

I often do something similar when converting legacy "3Bw" into Bow Levy -- just glue a metal 40x30 to the bottom, then cut a length of balsa wood to fill the gap, then flock. Most of my Classical Indians are based/converted that way, and they look good.

Re: SIGNUP for Punic Wars! Campaign Theme -- Fall In 2018

What about Romans starting the list with both an "In Italy" and "Expeditionary" army list which they switch between as appropriate in the campaign? I haven't looked at the Carthaginian list, but perhaps they could do the same. It doesn't really work. If the expedition was for mu...

Re: SIGNUP for Punic Wars! Campaign Theme -- Fall In 2018

Likewise. Now, on to rebasing. David, there are chronological and geographic conditions in the Polybian Roman army list. I imagine that the date limits don't apply since they all can fit into the 2nd Punic War. What about the "Only in Italy" condition? For the Campaign Theme, if you take ...
