Gasgans v. Illyrians

Frank was enthusing about his newly completed Gasgan army, so we made it the last of our battles on Saturday. He has a lovely camp, complete with goats (a frequent feature of his camps, and rather apt ;) ) and a snake charmer. https://i.ibb.co/LNTWSwk/IMG-5034.jpg And a handsome army as well, in the...

36.1 What can be a group

We had this conglomeration turn up in one of our armies during a battle and eventually concluded that it might be many things but that it would not qualify as a single group because of the gap between B and E, which would violate 36.1.c. Is that correct? https://i.ibb.co/41YsJ88/group-question-diagr...

80. Pass Through

One thing we agreed on when playing that, on re-reading the rule, I think we got wrong. In looking at the illustration to 80.2, I note that A, which is passing through the stand to its rear, is shallower than the stand it's passing through. From that I surmise that the provision 80.1.b that there mu...

64.3 Front contact priority

One item that came up in our mini-marathon last weekend was the case of a defender with attackers whose front edges are in contact with the defender's front and flank edges (just like the illustration to 64.3). The rule is written somewhat from the defender's POV, so I wanted to be sure: if the dark...

Re: Triumph! @ Huzzah Hobbies

I'd say that was an accurate recounting of the matchups. I'll try and do some short AARs with pictures later. Game 1. Korgyuro Koreans vs Medieval French: Koreans win 20-8 (? I think I got one archer and one elite foot off him) Game 2. Korgyuro Koreans vs Burgundians: Koreans win again, 23-10. Game ...

Re: Triumph game day in Maryland, 28 June 2018

the idea was to have me bring them all. What do we need? Six armies? What we *need* is another mat and some more measuring tools, which Scott has kindly offered to provide. Thanks, Scott! What people *can* bring are any armies they would like to. I will be bringing some of those I mentioned earlier...

Sadly, none of my Punic armies are anywhere near Triumph-ready.

Re: Triumph game day in Maryland, 28 June 2018

Excellent! This is great! With the folks signed up on the Meet Up group ( which can be found here , in case folks would like to join), that's six players, and I think there may be one or two more. One thing I'd ask is that someone bring extra measuring tools and an extra board, just in case (the hos...
